Luminex Corporation is based in Austin, Texas USA; with a European subsidiary in The Netherlands. They develop and manufacture innovative technologies with applications in the life science and diagnostic pathology industries. Their proprietary xMAP® technology is a multiplexed bead based system that allows simultaneous measurement of up to 100 different analytes in a single sample. Luminex Corporation has more than 60 partners worldwide, where the xMAP® technology is now utilised across a diverse range of applications. Luminex Corporation supplies the flow cytometry hardware, microspheres and core software required for the digital processing. Their partners utilise the open-architecture to develop the many assay applications for both analytes and antibodies.

Diagnostic Solutions has been a distributor of the Luminex xMAP® technology in Australia and New Zealand since 2003, with the BMD FIDIS System / Luminex® instrument and assay panels for autoimmune disease from BMD, HLA testing from Tepnel and now Pneumococcal Immune Status Serology testing from the Luminex Biosciences Group [LBG].

Luminex Bioscience Group [LBG] was established in 2005 with a charter to develop and distribute assays for both research and clinical laboratory markets. The Pneumococcal Immune Status Panel is one of the first assays to be released commercially by LBG. In 2008, Diagnostic Solutions became the exclusive distributor in Australia and New Zealand for the LBG Pneumococcal Immune Status assay. Learn more.
