Immuno Concepts was founded in 1979 with a commitment to advance the quality of diagnostic assays for systemic rheumatic diseases. They pioneered the conversion from rodent tissue to HEp-2 cells for the detection of anti-nuclear antibodies (ANA). Using genetic engineering they developed HEp-2000®, an ANA substrate with increased sensitivity for the detection of autoantibodies to SS-A/Ro. Immuno Concepts was also the first company to offer a non-fluorescent ANA, Colorzyme®.
From the beginning, Immuno Concepts has been committed to education and training. Their seminar series are famous and have educated many laboratory scientists throughout Australia, New Zealand and the world in the proper use of ANA and related testing. Their VISIONS II & III® training program and the Patient Sample Interpretative Training Series (PSITS) have also set new benchmarks in the industry for the interpretation and training in systemic rheumatic disease testing.
